Will and Miles have joined the team, and they already get what we’re about.

When we started Jump, the ethos was pretty simple: build a firm made up of thoughtful and engaged people. That’s still the standard. For us, it means showing up, being prepared, being intellectually curious, and being mindful of a founder’s precious time.

We try to understand the industry and business before the first call, or at the very least, do enough homework to ask thoughtful questions. And if we get to partner with you, we stay close.

That may mean a whiteboarding session on the GTM plan, a Sunday night phone call before a board meeting, helping find a VP of Sales, or jumping on an impromptu call with the founder to provide a new perspective. And sometimes, it means knowing when to stay quiet and not give advice, for once.

That’s how we’ve always tried to operate, even as the venture landscape shifts, speeds up, or resets entirely. As we expand the investing team to meet more great founders and the platform team to support them better, we’re ensuring that we hold onto the same way of working: do the work. Be engaged. Stick around.

We’re thrilled to welcome two new team members who embody that original ethos, and we hope you’ll enjoy meeting and working with them.

Will Walker joins our investment team based in our New York office. He’ll help expand our reach in one of the most founder-dense markets in the country. A former competitive tennis player, he cut his teeth in the start-up world as a sales engineer, pursued a Columbia MBA, and found his passion in venture capital. Will brings sharp instincts, strong SaaS experience, and a stubborn curiosity about why founders do what they do. If that sounds like a Jump Capital person, we did our job recruiting him.

Miles Scheffler also joined us this summer as a Data Analyst within our Platform team in Chicago. His mission is to leverage data, AI tools, and general workflow automation to help us identify and support the right companies faster. A Midwest native and Michigan grad, Miles most recently worked at Transparent Partners and once helped the U.S. Park Service build smarter wildlife monitoring tools, harnessing data and leveraging existing infrastructure. We appreciate that kind of thinking; it’s resourceful and quietly practical. He’ll supercharge our platform operations with the help of AI and, occasionally, a spreadsheet with 200 tabs.

These additions to the team reflect where we’re headed: more thoughtful coverage in key markets, more hands-on support for the founders we back, and the ability to evolve in response to the changing landscape of venture. Connect with them to get acquainted!
