What I do at Jump

I have had the fortuitous opportunity to strategically sit alongside portfolio company founders, operators, co-investors, and fellow board members to help execute growth plans and navigate key milestones. I primarily collaborate closely with portfolio company leaders to prepare for and achieve significant company events (exits and equity and debt fundraises), mostly by ensuring they have attractive financial structures in place.

Additionally, outside of operating in businesses enabling digital transformation in verticals including retail, healthcare, edtech, telecommunications, and even parking infrastructure, I spend time with investing theses including legaltech, CFO suite and biz ops, specialty insurtech, and the risk compliance stack.

Talk To Me About

Chief Financial Officers explicitly growing company enterprise value by:
  1. Maniacally pursuing Rule of 40+
  2. Exercising strategic and disciplined cash management to pursue growth
  3. Reinforcing 1 and 2 knowing they are similar!
Chief Legal Officers getting more budget due to growing municipality regulations and compliance requirements, and how they prioritize new software acquisitions.
Outsourced professionals (auditors, consultants, tax experts, accountants, lawyers) all executing more proficiently than ever, delivering more output with fewer resources and utilizing software enablement cheat codes.
Insurance consumers and enterprises pursuing a better policyholder experience.

Proudly a son of an entrepreneur, I’m always interested in competitive founders oozing with enthusiastic grit and perseverance to overcome inevitable obstacles.

Backstory

What excites me about what I do is working with a diverse range of talented individuals. Working with innovative entrepreneurs, solvers of problems, analytical project and product managers, ambitious designers, numbers-driven marketers, numbers void but mindful and creative marketers, aggressive sales folks, studious sales folks, organized controllers, strategic finance excel gurus, engineers with slack addictions and slack pet peeves, QAs champing at the bit to be full stack developers, people persons, and so many more in between is what excites me about doing what I do.

While exits, mergers, fund raises, and debt deals often grab the headlines, I’ve found the company-defining moments are often the daily tactical efforts when no one is looking that truly shape a company. It’s during these times that teammates do the maniacal little things that produce high-quality products and relationships.
